Don't Get Greedy
What would happen if God told us exactly how much we needed and asked us to trust Him for the rest? In Exodus 16, we find the Israelites freshly out of Egypt, hungry and complaining, and God responds not with frustration but with provision. He sends manna, a mysterious substance whose very name means 'what is it,' and with it comes a profound lesson about dependency, stewardship, and surrender. The manna was given daily, measured precisely, and was never meant to be hoarded. When people tried to save it for the next day out of fear that there would not be enough, it rotted. God was not being harsh. He was dismantling a scarcity mindset and replacing it with trust. This passage challenges us to examine the areas of our lives where we are holding on too tightly, whether that is resources, comfort, or control, and asks us whether we truly believe that God will show up tomorrow the way He showed up today. The invitation here is not just about ancient bread in a wilderness. It is about learning to live one day at a time, fully dependent on the One who has already prepared what we need.
